For more than twenty-five years he has developed his professional career in the field of information technology at the National Institute of Aerospace Technology where, among other functions has worked as CISO and DPO.

During the last ten years he has worked in the Spanish DPA where he has developed the following functions: inspection area coordinator, CISO, head of the Informatics Unit and currently working as Head of the Technological Assessment and Analysis Unit.

As Data Inspector and Head of Instruction Area, he has performed coordination tasks in the Inspection Area in the video surveillance sector, assuming the responsibility of coordinating the team of Inspectors, Sub-inspectors and Instructors in charge of admission, personal data inspection and the processing of sanctioning procedures. In parallel with this activity has taken part in other inspection activities in areas such as spam or ex oficio inspection plans on data protection.

As CISO he has developed the Spanish DPA Security Scheme and the data protection policy, in parallel with this functions he has also collaborated in European projects related to the certification of products, processes and services, as well as in the elaboration of the opinion on drones and privacy of the working group of article 29.

During the last years, he has participated in the development of materials for both data controllers and citizens, materials that have been published at website of the Spanish DPA, such as guides and help tools as well as the Certification Scheme for DPO. These materials include video surveillance guides, recommendations guide for anonymization processes, internet security and privacy guide, FACILITA_RGPD tool, data protection guides for minors, etc.

He currently works at the Unit of Technological Assessment and Analysis Unit created in 2015, whose purpose is to promote the culture of data protection as a factor of trust in the digital society.
